Traffic on Yukon roads is increasing, and our lives are getting busier. Many of us spend much of our time commuting, doing errands, delivering kids to after-school activities, etc.  Technology can make our lives easier as we go about these day-to-day activities, and there is more and more technology being used in our vehicles. But we must still remember to make good choices whenever we get behind the wheel.

Department of Highways and Public Works is working to make Yukon roads safe for everyone, and your decision to drive safely and responsibly does make a difference.

In the last 10 years, the number of registered vehicles in the Yukon has increased by 25% from 25,492 to 33,498

 

 

More Technology, More Distraction... 

  • In 2003, 20% of Yukon households were using cell-phones
  • In 2007, over 50% of Yukon households had cell-phones
